The opportunity

Gildan is seeking a motivated individual to join our eCommerce Customer Development team, specifically focused on Amazon. This role focuses on driving significant business value to our growing eCommerce business.  The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to identify business needs, develop analytical solutions, and translate data-driven insights into actionable business actions aimed at driving profitable growth opportunities. 

The role

  • Category expert: For assigned categories, become a thought leader/go-to person for insights on Gildan brands and competitor brands on Amazon.  Utilize market knowledge with data to recommend growth strategies.  Understand where competition is winning, identify and communicate trends affecting consumer behavior and conversion.
  • Data Maintenance:  Ensure the accuracy of data in setting up new items on Amazon.  Ensure accuracy of PDP content across assigned categories.  Suggest updates to PDP content based on knowledge of category market dynamics.  Ensure everything shipped is selling – flag suppressions, audit for page breaks, flag imagery needs, remove rogue listings.
  • Budget Management:  Assist the Senior Manager with budget management, including tracking, reporting and communication with finance partners.  Make recommendations for promotional trade spend based on knowledge of market.
  • Business Acumen and Analysis: Develop a deep understanding of Gildan’s business strategies, objectives, and competitive landscape. Support eCommerce team to leverage data-driven analytics for informed decision-making that drive business outcomes, results, and value. Identify critical business challenges and growth opportunities, using analytics to propose inventive solutions that drive growth, efficiency, cash generation, and profitability.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct analyses to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within datasets. Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to extract actionable insights from data and support business decision-making. Build visual analytics and dashboards as appropriate.
  • Business Problem Solving and Collaboration with Data Science: Develop business cases and frame analytical solutions that address business problems and opportunities. Regularly review and analyze business performance to identify areas for improvement and collaborate with others to implement these solutions effectively.
  • Business Communication: Translate data findings into actionable, business-focused actions and effectively communicate decision support narratives. Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for analytical initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across the organization, including eCommerce sales leadership, marketing, finance, operations, and product development.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in analytics and seek opportunities to enhance analytical capabilities and drive innovation.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad hoc analysis as needed to support special projects and initiatives

The requirements

Bachelor's degree in business or quantitative field such as  mathematics, economics, data analytics. 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor’s degree.

Specific Skills or Experience Required

  • 1+ years work experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Amazon Vendor Central experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in analysis tools and business intelligence software such as PowerBI.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data visualization techniques.
  • Ability to align analytical solutions with business objectives and strategies.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, product lifecycle management, and/or supply chain is a significant plus
